ARTWORK SUMMARY

“Further Down the River” is about being able to move forward in life despite the tragedies one has underwent. It is being able to look back at these unfortunate but necessary experiences, and still see the goodness in life. I use lanterns in my paintings as symbols of hope, of guiding lights we have to look onto, and of illumination in the spiritual sense.
